MAKESHA MECHAN THOMAS:

MAKESHA MECHAN THOMAS:

On or about February 9, 2021, to April 14, 2021, Makesha Mechan Thomas obtained employment and practiced as a registered nurse (RN) at a hospice facility in Tomball, Texas, by presenting fraudulent credentials. During this time, Makesha Mechan Thomas represented herself as a nurse, provided direct patient care, and acted as an administrator. Makesha Mechan Thomas presented a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a college in Arizona which had been rescinded in 2017 due to fraudulent transcripts submitted for transfer credits, and in October 2019, Makesha Mechan Thomas’s license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin was revoked. The Board’s investigation revealed that Makesha Mechan Thomas did not and does not currently possess a license or privilege to practice nursing in the State of Texas. This case has been referred to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

BRITTANY NICOLE ADAMS:

Between August 17, 2020, and September 16, 2020, Brittany Nicole Adams used a registered nurse (RN) license number belonging to another licensee with the same first and last name and secured employment as a RN with an assisted living facility in Harrison County, Texas. Further, between October 14, 2020, and January 21, 2021, Brittany Nicole Adams also secured employment as a RN with a home health agency in Smith County, Texas. During this time, Brittany Nicole Adams represented herself as a RN to staff, patients, physicians, and the general public while using the credentials of “RN” on medical and business records. On December 7, 2020, Brittany Nicole Adams attempted unsuccessfully to gain employment through a staffing agency to work at CVS locations in Texas. The Board’s investigation revealed that the date of birth, social security number, and address information provided by Brittany Nicole Adams to the employers does not belong to any nurse having a license or privilege to practice nursing in the State of Texas. The case has been referred to the district attorneys’ offices in Harrison County and Smith County for prosecution.

Tiffany Janea Pennell remained employed and practiced as a registered nurse (RN) with a home health agency in Galveston County, Texas, from July 23, 2021, through December 9, 2021, after her license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas had been revoked on July 22, 2021. During this time, Tiffany Janea Pennell provided direct patient care and represented herself as an RN to staff, patients, physicians, and the general public while using the credentials of “RN” on medical and business records. This case has been referred to the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office.
